March Break Ideas for the Family

March break is around the corner, which means it’s time for some long overdue family fun! So, instead of letting your kids melt into the couch in front of their latest Xbox game, we’ve compiled a list of some awesome, local activities which the whole family can get out and enjoy! These are 100% non-boredom certified.

1. Open Jam Session

The Clarington Public Library is hosting an open jam session on March 16, from 1:30 to 2:30pm. Children of all skill level are welcome to bring an instrument and join in for some musical fun! Register here.

2. Hockey Hall of Fame

The Hockey Hall of fame are offering extended hours during March Break. Try your hand at goaltending, shooting, play-by-play calling, and even hosting your own sports broadcast, as well as the world’s greatest hockey collection! Access your March Break Family Value Coupon now!

3. Family Skate

Enjoy a free family skating session at Whitby’s Iroquois Park Sports Centre on March 18 from 11:00am to 12:30pm

4. Get Lost in Space

The Ontario Science Centre has a fantastic line-up of entertaining and educational activities and exhibits the whole family will love. Discover amazing animals from around the world, special exhibitions, programs, IMAX films and more! Buy your tickets here.

5. Flight School

The Clarington Public Library are also hosting a Flight School for ages 10 to 12 on March 20 from 1:30pm to 3:00pm. Put yourself in the pilot’s seat and get set to build and test the best flyers! Make sure to register by Mar 20, 2015 for FREE.

6. ComiCon

Want to see Comic characters come to life? Don’t miss out on Toronto’s ComicCon at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Meet your favorite celebrities, artist and writers. Enjoy panels and workshops. Showcase your costume and cosplay bringing your favorite character to life! March 20th to the 22nd.

7. Make a Splash!

Attend the Pickering Recreation Complex for a refreshing, free swim on March 22, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
