At PetleyHare Insurance Brokers, we believe in giving back to the communities that have supported us over the years. We’re excited to share that, in partnership with our friends at Intact Insurance, we made a $10,000 donation to Durham Outlook for the Needy, a local organization providing essential support to those who need it most in the Durham Region.
About Durham Outlook for the Needy
Durham Outlook for the Needy (DOFN) is a non-profit organization that operates a community soup kitchen, providing meals and support services for those facing food insecurity. Their facility in Oshawa serves nutritious meals daily to hundreds of individuals while offering a space of dignity, respect, and care.
But it doesn’t stop there—DOFN also runs various community programs aimed at improving the quality of life for those in need, from meal programs to partnerships that provide essential services like clothing, hygiene kits, and more. You can learn more about the work DOFN does here.
Our Commitment Goes Beyond Donations
Beyond our financial contribution, the team at PetleyHare regularly rolls up their sleeves to volunteer at the Durham Outlook facility in Oshawa. Every month, our dedicated staff joins other volunteers to help with essential tasks such as buttering buns, preparing cutlery, cutting desserts, sorting food, peeling vegetables, cleaning tables, and sweeping floors. It’s an incredibly rewarding experience to see firsthand the difference this organization is making in people’s lives.
