To our loyal Bowmanville customers,
It’s with mixed emotions that we announce effective May 1st 2021, Petley-Hare will be closing our doors at 68 King Street East, Bowmanville.
Over the past 30+ years, we’ve had the pleasure of watching downtown Bowmanville flourish into a lively, joyful and bustling business community. We were fortunate to not only witness this first-hand, but also partake in the wonderful community initiatives. Apple Festival, Summerfest, Maple Festival and the Santa Claus Parade to name a few. It really has been a pleasure to thrive alongside so many incredible people and businesses right here in the city of Bowmanville.
Petley-Hare has been in business since 1922 and has always had a vision of becoming the most prominent insurance brokerage within the Durham Region. At a time, we thought this meant not only having the best people, products and service, but it also meant having bricks and mortar locations throughout each city. Like many businesses during the pandemic, we have been forced to change and adapt. We have had to pivot in new directions and change the way we ultimately connect with our customers. We have upgraded all of our technology and processes, and have learned new methods to offer an even more superior sales and service experience to our growing customer base.
With all of that now in place, we know we can create long—lasting customer relationships even though we might not get to meet face-to-face as often. We know that a physical location is not the only reason that you should make us your broker of choice. We can now connect with customers all across the province, yet still employ and empower people and families throughout each of these small cities. These employees and of course our loyal customers in those cities will now act as our conduits into the community initiatives, festivals and local sports teams. We have built this business on the backs of small, family communities and not even a global pandemic will change that going forward.
We are in the process of designing and building a new head office on Thornton Road in North Oshawa. This will be our flagship location where we will house our team of rockstar insurance professionals and continue to support our amazing customers and the surrounding communities. All business matters will be handled out of our current location at 1180 Simcoe Street North, Oshawa until the new build is complete in 2022.
